Inspired by the caning of the chairs, I highlight the beginning of these very particular interlacings.
The Checkered Vases stand out from other collections by the use of rattan cane (the flat and shiny bark of the rattan fiber)
Through the arrangement of the fibers, a dance of shapes seems to appears, the checks stack up to create an optical illusion, as if cubes were emerging into a space. This visual magic plays with the eyes, offering an unexpected depth, a play between surface and imagination, where geometry becomes poetry.
