Delicate ceramic and rattan brooches.
They are inspired by the basketwork technique of four-point binding called “God’s Eye”.
These are variations of basic basket weaving stitches or ornamental crosses for wooden constructions. It is the heart of the work that is highlighted here. These two raw materials complement and reinforce each other to form this precious object.
Cane is the bark of rattan. It is strong and has a shiny, varnished side, like the ceramic glaze.
